If the Angel of Death saw the sacrificial blood on the Door, He would "Pass Over" the House otherwise every 1st Born in the House was killed that Night all across the land of Egypt ca1440BC. The Passover was then made an eternal Memorial thereafter as Israel's very first annual Holy Appointment. It represents a "moment in time", the time it takes to sacrifice the Passover.
