Big bass caught on light tackle while on family outing at Athens fish hatchery.

Day trip visit to Athens TX fish hatchery. On this family trip, we tour the fish hatchery and aquarium. Then take the family fishing on the free fishing pong behind the Hatchery. We see many different types of fish; everything from Alligator gar to trout. We get to see Outdoor Johnny get covered in worms while fishing and helping dad put trout back into the water after catch.

We harvest 10 rainbow trout , catch one channel catfish, and one very plump largemouth bass.
