While performing a combat mission in the zone of a special military operation, the Su-25 attack aircraft, the second in a pair, was hit by a rocket fired from the ground by a military serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The pilot of the damaged aircraft decided to turn off the affected engine and not leave the plane. The pilot of the leading aircraft, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Litvinov, carried out the rebuilding and, realizing that the comrade's plane would not withstand a repeated missile hit, covered it with his plane. When landing, the pilot of the damaged Su-25 reported a failure of the control systems and landed on the commands of a comrade covering him. Thanks to Litvinov's cold-blooded and skillful actions, it was possible to save the life of the pilot and the combat aircraft. Both pilots are presented with state awards.
