Valeria Khrystoforova used to be an accountant in Odesa, but she is now in hiding with her boyfriend, fearing the Russian army will attack the city.

Almost everyday in Odesa an air raid siren goes off, scaring terrified residents who go into underground carparks or bunkers in their apartment buildings.

“I’m already used to this”, she told Independent TV.

When a siren goes off, Valeria rushes down many floors from the top of their high-rise building to the safety of the bunker. The couple fear one day they might not make it.
