Worked example problem on the rotational kinematics of a rigid disc. You are encouraged to challenge and test your knowledge by first attempting the problem and then comparing your answer.
A tyre has a diameter of 35 cm. At the time instant shown, point A has a tangent velocity of 15 m/s. What is the velocity of point B on the rim? If the tyre started from rest, how much time would it take point A to traverse an angle of PI rad, assuming a constant angular acceleration?
