Staying Focused on Christ

In verses 6-9, Paul addresses his desire to have the Colossian church stay focused on Christ. Do not let the world fill you with empty deceit or philosophies that are not Christ centered or represent Christ. The world’s traditions can certainly get in our way in growing in Christ. They can in some case actually stop our growth. We need to stay rooted, built up and established in the faith and the teachings of the cross. We should be thankful for these teachings and what Christ has done for us and that we have a solid foundation in Christ.
