More than a year ago, there were plenty of peer-reviewed, randomized controlled trials that provided strong evidence for the efficacy of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID at any stage of disease.

Lead author Dr. Andrew Hill of the University of Liverpool wrote a paper on these many studies for the World Health Organization's COVID Guideline Development Group. Hill was an early and ardent advocate of ivermectin. His paper showed that ivermectin could reduce deaths by 75% if it were used around the world.

Inexplicably, the paper appeared on a pre-pressure server a few days before publication, with the conclusions changed. Instead of concluding that ivermectin-one of the safest and cheapest drugs in the world-should be introduced worldwide, it now concluded that more research on ivermectin was needed before it could be recommended worldwide. Given the total scientific evidence for ivermectin, this was an amazing, actually shocking, reversal by Dr. Hill.
