I have absolutely been on a Castlevania binge if you've seen my recent uploads. Playing through the first 5 console Castlevania titles. I can't get enough of this wonderful franchise. Except the SNES version. That was garbage and I'm skipping it and moving right to SOTN. At any rate sympathy of the night was probably one of my most treasured games as a kid. I know them getting ready to play through it like 25 years later I want to do it as beautifully as possible.

While a lot of your older games emulate just fine, when dealing some of the more advanced systems like the PlayStation 1 we require a little bit more to get games looking pristine.

And in a lot of cases you can upscale your games, alter the resolution and use things like shaders, overlays and other various patches and hacks to games these looking and playing even better than you remembered.

This is considered taboo for a lot of preservationists who want to play the game in their original state and I can't blame them for it. But I'm probably the opposite. I had a 19 in TV and it was terrible. Even when I was able to hook my Nintendo up to the living room TV, looking back Now... That wasn't much better.

If I can replay these games in their Glory then why not?
