RUSSIAN Shelling has damaged a nuclear research building at the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology in northeastern Ukraine, as seen in video posted by a public broadcaster on March 11.

The institute houses a newly installed neutron source research facility, which is not yet fully operational.

The attack caused minor damage, Ukraine’s national nuclear regulatory authority said.

The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine previously said on March 6 that the centre had come under Russian shelling. The regulator said the building had been damaged and a substation destroyed.
