In this video I'll be building a lighter completely from scratch from solid stainless steel. I got this idea from a Russian channel called "Левша" (Levsha). He has made the same lighter, I just designed it a little differently.

I remember when I first saw this match video, I really liked the design and wanted to make my own. I've contacted him and asked permission to copy his designs, I'm so glad he agreed. Now the time has finally come to make it.

I made my design a little different. On my lighter, the inner ring is the part that can be removed from the body and held in place by a forged wick holder which is sealed with three o-rings. I also made my version completely stainless steel (1.4305). I originally planned to do a mirror polished finish on everything, but then I changed my mind and went with a brushed finish, which turned out to be absolutely stunning in my opinion. This is a very fun little project. It requires a lot of very precise machining and has a lot of very small details. I'm so happy how this turned out and I'm glad I'm now finally finishing this project.
