A quick guide to picking a probiotic.

Supplemental probiotics come in all shapes and sizes and the verbiage on the bottle might not make any sense. What the heck is a CFU anyway and just how much do we need? While we believe probiotics (either taken via supplements or from food) are absolutely necessary, it's tough to know where to start and what's effective.

On this week's episode we look at four types of supplemental probiotics: refrigerated, shelf-stable (or not refrigerated), spores, and SBOs (soil based organisms), and hope to clear up some of the misunderstandings when it comes to these products. If you're not taking a probiotic, it's probably time to give one a consideration.
