Reporters from both CNN and MSNBC attempted to play down the nighttime violence of the riots in 2020, instead focusing on the peacefulness of the daytime protests.

Both went so far as to ignore the violence and destruction occurring all across the nation, with 574 riots taking place between May 25 and July 31 of 2020 and causing more than $2 billion in damages.
