The enemy has retreated again. "The cheers of the Ukrainian Navy have hit the Russian warships hard.
The Ukrainian Navy claims that Ukrainian forces attacked Russian warships while protecting the port of Odessa from aggression.
A video showing Ukrainian troops cheering after hitting a Russian ship in the Black Sea, which was about to attack Ukraine's biggest port, was released online.
The Russian ship Vasily Byko, equipped with two machine guns and two grenade launchers, is believed to have attempted to occupy the port on Monday.
However, Ukrainian troops protected the port of Odessa from Russian ships.
In a Facebook statement, the Ukrainian Navy wrote that "the enemy has withdrawn again."
Similarly, the Ukrainian army said: "Today, on March 7, 2022, the Ukrainian naval forces defending the Odessa region attacked enemy ships."
Ukrainian President Zelensky accused #Russia of war crimes by planning to bomb the Odessa port in the urban area with about a million people nearby.
In a video shared online, Ukrainian leaders said: "They are preparing to bomb Odessa.
"Russians always come to Odessa. They just feel the warmth in Odessa. Just honesty. And now? Bombs against Odessa? Cannons against Odessa? Missiles against Odessa?
This would be a war crime. It would be a historical crime."
In the days leading up to the attack, defense experts warned that the port could become the next possible Russian land acquisition operation.
They were warned that separating Ukraine from the Black Sea coastline would be a "huge blow" for
the country and would bring economic resistance to Russia.
However, Odessa seems to have escaped the invasion so far.
It came on the 12th day of #Putin invasion of #Ukraine, another setback for the Russian president.
Despite fierce weekend fighting, Russian troops have not occupied any important territory as Ukraine continues to protect their capital from invading forces.
Russian troops appear to have been battling Ukrainian opposition since entering the country on February 24.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed to have destroyed about 30 Russian helicopters, and also said they had recaptured the town of Chuhuiv, near Kharkiv.
