Rhodesian Ridgebacks Worried About Their Broken Footed Owner

Mister Brown the Rhodesian Ridgeback has developed a 'misbehaviour' since I broke my foot. He won't go out the back to empty unless I go with him.
When the ambulance came & took me away, he was put out in the backyard to be out of their way. Out the backyard, with my blood all over the place. It distressed him, greatly.
When I came home, NOTHING could keep him away from me yet still he's very steady & gentle around me, even with my good leg and my lap, where he's taken to putting his head a lot more often than he used to, even in front of other people!
He normally doesn't like showing his private, soft side he shares with me, in front of others, but now he just likes to nurse me.
And even little Tommy Girl has picked up that she should contain her boisterous puppiness when around her hobbling old lady.
