ARMED police tackle and detain woman holding flowers while protesting the conflict in Ukraine on International Women's Day.

Dozens of women gathered in Russia's second largest city of Saint Petersburg on Monday (March 8) to protest the war against Ukraine.

International Women's Day celebration on March 8 is a public holiday in Russia.

Women were seen standing with flowers in their hands, one could be heard shouting 'We just want peace' to a line of masked policemen.
Russian media reported at least five women delayed saying none of them spend more than several seconds holding protest banners.
