The Transient Processor - with examples [FL Studio]

in this video, I'm going to show you how the transient processor works and show you one example of how to use it to make your drums sound better and another example to remove extra reverb from a drum loop.

Let’s start with the topic of this video. The Transient Processor is a dynamics processing plugin. This type of plugin can also be called a Transient Designer or Transient Shaper. So what is a transient processor? A transient processor allows you to add or cut the attack of a sound and to add or cut the sustain level of the sound. You can imagine it like an ADRS controller as you have in synths. The transient processor is threshold-independent, so it's perfect for dynamic sounds like drums and percussion. These types of plugins are very dependent on the audio they are receiving. They only work on transients so there must be transients present in the audio for the plugin to react to. The plugin will not work as intended with sounds like pads for example.
