GENEVA: With over 12,700 people wrongfully jailed in anti-war protests, the opportunity to criticize Russian public policy, particularly its invasion of Ukraine, is dwindling, according to Michelle Bachelet, the UN's top human rights officer (Mar 8).
"I continue to be worried about the use of restrictive legislation that obstructs the enjoyment of civil and political rights while criminalizing nonviolent behavior," Bachelet said in a video address to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
