Bound to a wheelchair, Paul lost hope, slowly losing sight of his dreams, the goals he wanted to accomplish. Eventually, he felt like he had stopped striving to become the man he wanted to be for his wife and most of all, for himself. When all seemed lost, a flicker of hope came around to illuminate a defeated mind. Paul saw that surrendering would never do him any good. With the love and support of his family, friends and now, his kids, Paul overcame his disability and lived life to the fullest. The Long Road Back is a true account of Paul’s journey, highlighting the darkest and brightest moments of his life. A remarkable man, Paul became a part of history, not only by witnessing the IRA hunger str**Kes, but also representing his country in the Paralympics and other national and international games. He fought against his disability to becoming a symbol of hope and inspiration for many.
