Elephants will get identity cards #shorts

In Sri Lanka, elephants are considered sacred and their safety remains a high concern. To add to their protection and safety, it has been decided by the Sri Lanka government to issue identity cards to all elephants being kept as pets or those who live in captivity.

Elephants' identity cards will have their photos and DNA stamps for easy identification.

There are around 7500 elephants in Sri Lanka.
