The OpenSea Phishing Highlights The Need For NFT Platform Security!
A phishing attempt was launched against OpenSea, the largest NFT platform after the platform revealed plans to delist dormant NFTs. OpenSea announced a smart contract change in mid-February, requiring all users to move their listed NFTs from Ethereum to a new smart contract. Because of the short migration date set by OpenSea, hackers were able to carry out the attacks. IN this case, the payee appears to be a single hacker who was able to use these signed transactions to transfer out and effectively steal the NFTs from these users.
One of these is to improve user experiences in order to protect users from phishing attempts. Users must be informed about phishing attempts and how to defend themselves from them. As a result, experts agreed that OpenSea was not primarily to blame for the attacks, but it raised the issue of OpenSea's information to its consumers.
