Stumpy is what we'll call the #Amputee Alligator at Venus Ranch

It has been said that like some other reptiles grow their tails back, a gator also has this ability but I don't buy it. I've seen a lot of 3 legged gators out there and adult gators with fully healed stumps for tails - that tells me the injury was done young. Just for your information and enjoyment.
