Allen-Bradley Servo Order Of Operation

The most reliable way to turn on a servo axis before any motion instructions are to make sure there are no faults while also double-checking that the servo has not already turned on.

This can be done in many different ways so this video is for example purposes only.

Just keep in mind that the two major things to verify before any motion commands turn on are that the servo is not faulted & that it is turned off.

0:00 Checking for Axis faults
1:05 Checking for Module Faults and Motion Group Faults
2:00 Adding the Motion Group Synced Bit
3:35 Creating a Servo Axis Fault For Testing
4:40 PLC Logic to Reset A Servo Axis Fault
5:30 Using Servo Action Status Bits To See If The Axis is On
6:00 Testing Motion Axis Shutdown
6:20 Resetting a Motion Axis Shutdown
7:00 Programming Ladder Logic To Run The Servo Axis
8:00 Explaining a MAJ Instruction
11:05 Programming a MAS Instruction For Motion Axis Stop
17:32 Testing A Motion Axis Fault While Running
18:24 Resetting the Servo Axis Fault and explanation

I hope it helped.

Thank you for watching the video.
