Do Vitamin C Supplements Help with Anxiety?

I was wondering why vitamin C seemed to help so much with my metal state. Everyone kept saying take magnesium for anxiety so I kept trying different magnesium supplements. The only one that I found helpful was a specific magnesium powder. I wondered why that was so I tried each of the components of the powder separately (it had various forms of magnesium, taurine and some other vitamins and minerals). I was surprised when I found it was the vitamin C that helped my mood because I had never heard of that being helpful for mental health.

Or maybe people who aren't already depressed eat better...? And those who are depressed will tend to make poor diet choices.
