Today's Positive Blip on the Radar - vet

Good to know this sweet bird is gonna be okay...so thankful for Winston and his great vet!

The story is this...Darling Winston the Eclectus parrot fell from his perch while I was making birdie breakfasts Sunday morning. It was obvious nothing was broken--he could still walk, grip, climb, and so on. He continued to eat, poop, talk, destroy his toys, and so on. So I set up a short "medical" cage for him to keep him more "confined" and to restrict his movement, giving his right leg time to recover because (and this is the part that freaked me out) he started favoring his right leg. By Wednesday, when he STILL favored that leg, I called his vet with my concerns; today was the first day they could fit him in and they did ALL the poking and prodding. Kinda reached the same conclusion I did but they were able to do it with more confidence because they're the folks with the medical degrees! They gave me an anti-inflammatory/pain reducer for him and we're gonna be additionally watchful for the next week.

All that to say: I'm so thankful for Winston the parrot, for his vet, for meds that help our darling pets, and for the weekend that's here to help me recover! (Yeah, I get stressed over these little feathered friends.)
