(2000) The Lemurs went full-on dark in this 2000 episode. We were pretty lit at the time (surprise!) and we went full-bore in exploring the whole fake cult root of he show...this is one of our most controversial shows, although it never received any high-profile "official" complaints. Its release coincided with the murder of a professor by a disgruntled grad student at U of A, so some of our ill-considered humor about gun violence had locals freaking out and asking the station if they had to worry about us coming to their homes and killing their children. No joke---they apparently got those calls. The whole thing was a colossal put-on, of course, but if we learned one thing about the public, it's that a lot of them aren't bright enough to understand when something's a put-on. Hell, most of these people still think Cable News giants are telling them the truth.
You're not allowed to do humor like this anymore, so it's important to preserve.
