Today Pastor Jon joins me to discuss the power of scripture and why it is our guiding light through life, and what happens if we abandon it. In the words of Jon, "Perhaps we don't realize what we are missing until we find out that we are missing everything."

God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?

Who are we to take on the world with such ambition? Those of us who can hardly maintain our own lives? Absolute freedom is a terrifying gesture and those who believe they can live through it free of consequence lack the knowledge of what they could become. Through absolute freedom there are no rules, no laws to keep you from reckless abandon.

Who are we to take on the world with such ambition? Those of us who can hardly maintain our own lives? So then who or what is it that should guide our lives throughout this world? What moral codes should we abide? Who sets the standards and why should we obey them? Maybe this is all found to be within Christ, in fact I know that this is where it is found.

This roadmap to morality is found within scripture, it is up to us if we will accept it as our guiding light, or not. So allow me to start at the beginning, the very Genesis of morality.
