Depression / Anxiety: Does Your Diet Matter? 2 Doctors Discuss

Is it possible that your diet may be leading to increasing depression and/or anxiety in your life? Is it possible that brain inflammation, and not chemical imbalances, is the cause of depression and anxiety. There is not doubt that some depression and anxiety is the result of life situations, but what about depression / anxiety in someone who’s family/work/social issues are all ok?

If eating an improper diet can lead to inflammation of the gut, the joints, and the skin, then why is it so hard to believe it can also inflame parts of the brain? Many health care providers are coming to believe this diet-induced brain inflammation is largely responsible for the epidemics of depression and anxiety in modern society. Dr Berry and Dr Paul Saladino both believe in this inflammation-model of depression/anxiety, and that it can also cause or worsen other mental problems as well.
