Russian invasion makes heavy push to cut off supply lines in southern Ukraine

The invasion of Ukraine has entered its eighth day as Russian troops further advance into the country’s south. Kremlin forces captured the first key city of Kherson near Crimea and later surrounded the port city of Mariupol. Russia’s inroads into the south is an attempt to sever Ukrainian supply lines from the Black Sea.
