Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is Cheap! But at What Cost to Veterans?

Most military veterans are familiar with the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). It is a retirement savings plan that is similar to a 401k. The TSP is cheap, costing only .027% in fees each year, and it offers a wide variety of investment options.
The problem is that the TSP is invested in the stock market, and the stock market is a risky investment. In recent years, the stock market has been extremely volatile, with large swings up and down. This volatility can cause retirees to lose a lot of money in their TSP account.
