Tracy Bone is an Indigenous singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She, along with a group of other indigenous peoples, participated in Canada’s Freedom Convoy—making music and blessing the protest day after day. This episode was recorded from the streets of Ottawa where she and Chief JD Anderson continue to drum and pray. Tracy shares her journey of healing from sexual abuse and generational trauma. She relates it to the exchanging of stories at the Freedom Convoy about revering bodily autonomy, honoring informed consent, and healing from the abuse of power, and then she invites Chief JD to share his insights on why the key to liberating Canadians is making sure that human rights are extended to people who have been marginalized, including the true natives of the land.
