New Ford Bronco - Ultimate In-Depth Look in 4K
Bronco: built for the trails
Advanced four-wheel-drive technologies and chassis architecture are the core of the Bronco SUV off-road capabilities, and at the heart of it all is the Bronco brand-exclusive Terrain Management Systemâ„¢ with G.O.A.T. Modesâ„¢ (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain). Up to seven driver-selectable modes are offered including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, with Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl for off-road driving.
Two 4x4 systems are offered – a base two-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case, and an optional advanced system that features a two-speed electromechanical transfer case with an auto mode for on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H.
Available Trail Toolbox gives Bronco owners various off-road technologies to elevate their off-road experience. This includes available Trail Control™, cruise control for low-speed trail driving, then adds class-exclusive* available Trail Turn Assist to tighten off-road turning radiuses through torque vectoring, plus innovative available Trail One-Pedal Drive††acceleration/braking control for more precise and confident slow-mode rock crawling.
Every Bronco comes with a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) System for optimum stability and control for thrilling off-roading at speed. Up front is the HOSS independent front suspension with twin alloy A-arms and long-travel coil-over springs brings improved confidence and comfort. A rugged solid axle design at the rear features variable rate long-travel coil springs with five locating links to deliver both strength and off-road control.
In higher-capability configurations, with either the Sasquatch™ off-road package, which is available on all Bronco models and standard on Badlands™ series, long-travel position-sensitive Bilstein® dampers with end-stop control valves are featured to help improve off-road durability and reduce harshness.
Class-exclusive* 35-inch off-road tires direct from the factory are available on every Bronco SUV series, while available beadlock-capable wheels allow customers to elevate off-road capability, regardless of price point.
Race-bred EcoBoost® engines plus class-exclusive* 7-speed manual and available 10-speed automatic transmissions give the all-new Bronco the optimal combination of power, torque and gear ranges to perform in a wide variety of terrains and uses. The standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine delivers 275 horsepower and 315 lb.-ft. torque the most four-cylinder gasoline torque in its class* **, while the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine produces 315 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. torque, the most gasoline-powered six-cylinder horsepower and torque in its class* **.
With premium gasoline, the 2.3-liter I-4 engine achieves 300 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. torque†and the 2.7-liter also makes gains with premium fuel, producing 330 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. torque†.
Every Bronco comes with class-exclusive* frameless doors that make them easier to remove than what competitors offer. On four-door Bronco models, all four doors can be stored onboard with available protective door bags. Class-exclusive* cowl-mounted mirrors maintain sideview visibility when the doors are removed. Trail sights on the front fenders also serve as tie-downs, reminiscent of the first-generation Bronco, and have a 150-pound capacity for securing longer items like canoes.
