The First Italo-Ethiopian War's culminating fight was the Battle of Adwa. On March 1, 1896, near the town of Adwa, Ethiopian soldiers repulsed an invading Italian force. The Kingdom of Italy's campaign to establish its colonial empire in the Horn of Africa was halted by the overwhelming victory.
