The domestic U.S. discussion around the Russian invasion of Ukraine is being presented, as all complex issues are, as black and white. Just as the U.S. State Department and its various layers of propaganda purveyors like it. In this Manicheanist world view, history began yesterday, the U.S. is always an innocent upholder of democracy and decency, and whoever contradicts U.S. interests are wholly evil and their actions are without provocation. Admitting that these are outright lies does not make one sympathetic to tyrants like Putin, but puts the conversation in proper context.
