This video is the first of three videos of conversations with Fr. Hesse where a wide variety of topics are discussed.

Notable topics and quotes from his talk:

At the beginning of this talk, Fr. Hesse goes over his background, education, and conversion to traditional Catholicism.

Fr. Hesse talks about the material schism of the majority of the bishops (those who reject at least one defined doctrine of the Church).

Fr. Hesse talks about the sensus fidelium and how it extends to 2,000 years of Catholics and not just the current college of bishops.

Fr. Hesse talks about Quo Primum.

“Were all these [Popes in previous centuries] idiots and now we’ve got the enlightened man on the Throne of Peter? No.... It's the other way around, believe me.”

“The New Mass is the smoke of Satan. The New Mass is something intrinsically evil.”

Fr. Hesse talks about the definition of the unity of the Church.

“…Vatican II is going against Church doctrine and therefore it’s null and void. That’s it: Vatican II goes directly against the Tradition of the Church, it goes against defined teachings in its document Unitatis Redintegratio on ecumenism. It goes against the defined doctrine of the Church in its declaration on religious liberty when it says that human beings through the dignity of his own nature has the right to choose his religion. This is a sentence that was explicitly condemned by Pius IX in the Syllabus, the Syllabus being a list of condemned sentences: 80 sentences, 80 statements, that the Pope in his different documents condemned and they were put together by the Holy Office under one title: Syllabus Errorum.”

Fr. Hesse talks about Annibale Bugnini.

“So you ask me, ‘Where’s the Holy Spirit?’ It’s the question over which many friends of mine have lost their theology. Where’s the infallibility of the Church today? Where is the indefectibility of the Church? Where is it? It’s still there! The Holy Spirit protected the Church from a Vatican II that became obligatory. See, they didn’t define anything in Vatican II. On the contrary.”

Fr. Hesse answers the question if a Pope was a Freemason, would he cease to be Pope?

“To be quite frank with you, the present Pope is a very lousy theologian because his philosophy's all screwed up and I doubt he knows what he's saying.”

Fr. Hesse gives perfect examples of horrible Pope John Paul II (material) heresies. He covers multiple heretical statements of Pope John Paul II. About how Fr. Hesse doesn’t judge the Pope personally but in the face of errors and heresies of new Popes, he quotes the infallible Councils and his papal predecessors.

Fr. Hesse makes fun of Bayside claiming that UFO's are the vehicles for the demons.

Fr. Hesse was asked why the Popes have not consecrated Russia and he offers his “growing suspicion” on why they didn’t publish the Third Secret and haven’t yet gone through with the consecration.

Fr. Gregory Hesse, S.T.D., J.C.D., S.T.L., J.C.L., Canon Lawyer, Doctor of Thomistic Theology, lifelong friend and personal secretary of Cardinal Stickler at the Vatican from 1986-1988 has provided us with many talks and conferences where he gives a no-nonsense, intelligent, learned, and witty exposition and explanation of relevant topics facing contemporary faithful Catholics. Fr. Hesse got to know approximately 45 cardinals while studying and working in Rome for 15 years and he has an uncanny and substantial knowledge of many things. You would be hard-pressed to find another theologian quite like him.

Canon Hesse was related to the Hapsburg royal bloodline. He was born in Vienna in 1952, ordained by Cardinal Marella in St. Peter's Basilica on November 21, 1981, and earned doctorates in Canon Law and Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. He worked as a personal secretary of Cardinal Stickler at the Vatican from 1986 to 1988. He passed away on January 25, 2006. You would be hard-pressed to find another theologian quite like him. A breath of fresh air in today’s widespread climate of many weak, ignorant, and naive clerics and theologians, he was affectionately called by several of his friends during his life “the bull in the china shop.” His example, testimony, and insights no doubt played and will play an important role in Catholic thought and development. Listen to find out why.

This video and all the remastered audio files at the above link have been professionally touched up to remove as much background noise, pops, crackles, and other audio imperfections as possible. Because the original recordings were done on cassette tapes with less-than-ideal audio equipment, there are a certain amount of audio artifacts and tape hiss that were not possible to entirely remove. However, the remastered audio files are significantly better than the originals.
