The wonderful bird that was like the god of an ancient tribe.

These two magnificent birds were found in the El Triunfo Reserve located in Ocosingo, Chiapas. The quetzal is found mainly in Central America and lives in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama, but is also found in parts of southern Mexico and South America.

Its habitat is tropical rainforests, grasslands and mountains with dense vegetation and humid or sub-humid climate. It builds its nest high in uninhabited trees or in holes left by woodpeckers.
