Living Off-Grid in a Tent w/ Wood Stove: Sierra Had A Big Seizure/Health Scare at Camp Yesterday

Kind of a rough day...Sierra had a pretty big seizure at camp this morning as we were getting ready to go on our hike. It was bad...she lost all body coordination and was writhing around on the ground right as we hit the trail. I got her back to the tent and she didn't have control of her bodily functions so laundering the soiled sleeping bag was a must. We spent the afternoon at the Monte Vista Animal Hospital (they worked us in at a moment's notice...awesome!) getting the typical tests run...EKG, blood work, etc. EKG came back fine so I'm anxious for the blood work results, it will help identify any underlying issues which may have caused this. She's now sleeping in the back seat of my truck while I grab a quick bite to eat before returning to camp for the evening. Eventful day...glad Sierra is feeling better. I'll be keeping a close eye on her for the next few days as she rests and recovers.

Definition of "Off-Grid": Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities.
