In the heart of Siberia, Lake Baikal is one of the biggest lakes in the world. It contains 20% of the world’s fresh water and is nicknamed “the great sacred sea” by Russian people. Its water is extremely pure, thanks to the “goupki”, a little animal that filters water. Lake Baikal is frozen half of the year, but still has a great biodiversity.
