LEATHERFACE: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3 - 1990 - The Iconic Horror Character Returns with his Crazy Cannibal Clan to terrorize once again. This was intended to be a remake of the original, but was later marketed as a sequel by the production company.

My opinion of the film places it second in the series after the original due to the more intense Leatherface characterization as a brutal killer, similar to that used in the 2003 remake
