How to Keep Your Turtle Tank De-Iced 🐢

The K&H Ultimate Stock Tank De-Icer worked great in this latest test, where temperatures were in the teens to low 20s at night, with high temps at or below freezing for a few days. All other water, such as the bathing tub for the goose, was frozen over about 3" in ice. I tried it in floating and submersible mode, and it worked well both ways. On the most cold nights, it did have trouble keeping most of the tank de-iced though when I had turned the filter pump off to lighten the load on the circuit breaker. It worked better and the tank stayed fully de-iced when I turned the pump back on, and it was circulating water.
