Ukrainian units are massively using phosphorus-filled munitions near the Gostomel airfield in the suburbs of Kyiv, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

“They use 122-millimeter shells for D-30 howitzers and rockets for BM-21 Grad installations, which are still Soviet-made,” he said.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that the use of such ammunition is prohibited by the third protocol of the 1980 UN Convention on Inhumane Weapons.

He also said that the grouping of troops of the Luhansk People's Republic, with fire support from the Russian military, advanced 56 kilometers and is rapidly developing the offensive.

The armed forces of the DPR advanced another three kilometers and established control over the villages of Anadol and Andreevka. They complete the defeat of the reserves of the operational-tactical group "Vostok" of the Ukrainian security forces.
