Save us from ourselves
Lord be our way and help
Guide us God when we are lost
Help us to follow you - nay counting the cost
Give us grace to carry our cross
Courage to seek
Freedom to speak
Wisdom to turn the other cheek
Life’s burdens so heavy
Like a force of gravity
Overwhelming intensity
I can’t carry them alone
Stay beside me as I roam
Give us strength in the face of fear
In the darkness Lord please draw near
Give me wisdom to open the door
I hear your footsteps on my floor
As you walk towards me
The demons call and creep
They’re insatiable they never sleep
Temptations are here and near
But your grace is abundant & clear
Your benevolence endless
You lead with forgiveness
You have so much to give
Help me receive it so I can fully live
Imperfect, flawed and weak
May I imitate you when I speak
May my deeds be good
Have mercy when they are bad
May my heart be full of compassion
Help me live out your mission
Fill my cup with fruits sweet & ripe
You are the way, the truth & the life
