Ukraine war 2022: Russian tanks enter city

After Russian troops were observed in the northern suburbs and shooting was heard near government buildings, Ukrainian military have begun to take up positions surrounding Kyiv.

The Russian forces believed to have infiltrated Kyiv are said to be based in the northern neighborhood of Obolon, a densely populated area barely 9 kilometers north of the parliament and city center.

Officials in Ukraine's capital have advised citizens to construct Molotov cocktails as a retaliation. Due to an air raid siren, city residents were also advised to proceed to shelters.
