Placebo Effect and How it Relates to Todays Science

The placebo effect is a well known thing that science has to contend with whether they can explain it or not. Every time the pharmaceutical companies want to get a new medication put on the market, it is supposed to pass a double blind study. The double blind study is used because it compares the affects of that medication on the human body and compares those results with the placebo effect. If the medications results are not significantly higher then the placebo group then the medication is revoked as it is considered to have little or no affect for what it is supposed to cure.
