Today I'm showing off a simple dehydrator recipe for banana chips, I have original (just banana), banana and honey and banana and cinnamon. They are all great but banana and cinnamon is my favorite out of the three.

This is a great recipe to do if you are new to dehydrating food or if you love bananas like I do. This recipe is for plain, banana, cinnamon banana, and honey glazed banana dehydrated banana chips. You can try different types of honey as well like Zambezi forest honey, its got a different flavor and a thick almost crunchy texture which goes great on banana chips.

I should also note that if you do banana and honey it adds a bit of mess with the honey getting all over, so just something to think about.

Dehydrators are great for making healthy sugar free snacks that your kids will love! Bananas are one of the easiest things to dehydrate and make great snacks but one thing to remember is in summertime if you have your dehydrator inside your house you make way to move it into the garage or not use it if that isn't an option. A dehydrator is essentially a low heat over and you keep in on for usually 8+ hours at a time. Using a dehydrator inside you house in summer will keep your house hot and never let it cool off at night, just something to keep in mind!

When I dehydrate bananas I use this mesh mat that comes with the excalibur dehydrator as it has holes through it the mesh to allow proper drying. You can use a sheet of wax paper but you'll need to flip your bananas after 4 hours to properly dry them out which is a major hassle.
