Strawberry/Banana Shortcake - Summer Cake - The Hillbilly Kitchen

Here's a note to all of you from my husband...

Hey everybody, I don't usually get involved in cooking affairs because I'm too busy doing farming chores, but I had to take a minute and talk to you about this Summer Cake. I don't believe there's nary a dessert on the planet that tastes as good as Summer Cake. I could eat it until I swell and can't fit in my pants no more.

It's a cool dessert, but not as cold as ice cream. It's sweet, but not as sweet as sugar. It's perfect for a hot summer day. The next time your sweetheart sets a cut of after dinner pie down in front of you, say no thank ya, I want Summer Cake.

Sponge cake/Angel food cake
1 lb. Strawberries
1 lb. Bananas
1/3 to 1/2 cup of sugar
Whipped cream
