Honeywell releases the Lyric security system, which is arguably the most advanced all in one wireless system on the market. This video will go over a first impressions look at the control panel and detail the good and the bad.

The new Lyric security system from Honeywell has all new technology for all in one wireless home protection. All of the sensors are battery operated and have full supervision which will give you complete control of your entire home defense system.

The Lyric security system control panel is also a touch screen key pad. The LCD screen is touch sensitive and will display all of the alerts, menus, keypads, warnings, monitors and information about your entire system. It comes with a built-in camera and Z-Wave.

The Lyric security system also has built in wireless and enables wireless zones as well as two hardwired zones. The always-secured WiFi network links to your existing network to enable you to get alerts via text or email. All of the sensors made for the Lyric security system are wireless.

The panel also supports cellular and has a built in siren. It is the next evolution in the Honeywell home security system.

From appearance, to installation, to operation our first impression of this system is that we are very impressed. The case design has a Swiss cheese/waffle pattern design that is carried through all of the sensors and panels.

One disadvantage of the new system that we found, was that there is no DC power option. It has the built-in battery back up and must be hardwired in to an AC outlet.

When paired with the Total Connect service, the built in camera can send a snapshot out to the storage cloud of the person who disarmed the system. This will enable you to view who is at the panel in the event the system was disarmed without your approval.

The Lyric security system supports 130 different zones. This means that you can use up to 138 wireless sensors that run on the 2.4gig wireless range. The other two zones are hardwired only. This is an improvement of over 50 more zones than previous systems.

One of the major benefits of the SIX sensors and the panel is that all of them have firmware that can be updated as new features are released by Honeywell and keep your system up to date.

Another great benefit is the backwards compatibility with sensors from the older systems. Sensors from the Lynx or Vista systems, for example, will work seamlessly with the Lyric system.

Finally another advantage is the availability for AT&T tower communications, just like all of the older systems, however, there is also a new MDA and Verizon communications. This will enable users with poor AT&T coverage to have other options for reliable communications other than WiFi.
