The Honeywell Lyric home security system makes use of the all new SIX series sensors and monitors. The Lyric SIX SIREN is a wireless siren, strobe light and chime enunciation device specifically designed for use with the Lyric system.

The Lyric SIXSIREN is the first device that will sound the actual siren and chimes without being the actual control panel. This video will show you how to install the siren in a place in your home where you might not be able to hear the control panel alarms.

In this video the location for installation is upstairs near the bedrooms. The control panel is located downstairs and is not easily heard in the middle of the night upstairs near the bedrooms.

This is a perfect location for the SIXSIREN as it will alert the homeowners in the middle of the night of an intrusion, fire or other alarm triggered at the control panel.

The first step is to remove the back plate from the device and use it as a template to mark the holes where the screws will be secured into the ceiling. Once the holes are marked, use a drill to make the holes so the back plate can be mounted.

The mounting hardware that comes with the Lyric SIXSIREN includes wall anchors, three screws and a case cover screw that is used to secure the cover to the backing plate.

You can follow along with the video to see how to use the wall anchors in the pre-drilled holes. The anchors should fit snug in the holes so they don’t fall out, but tight enough that they need to be hammered flush.

Once the anchors have been hammered flush you can position the back plate and align the screw holes to the anchors. Using the power drill with a screw driver attachment, screw the screws into the anchors.

Do not over tighten the screws as this will cause the back plate to warp. If the back plate is warped, the siren will not mount correctly to the back plate. The video will cover this in detail.

Once you have the back plate secure to the ceiling (or wall) you can optionally screw the tamper switch to a wall or ceiling stud. This will send a tamper alarm to the control panel, alerting you that the siren has been removed from the mount.

The final step is to twist lock the siren to the back plate, securing it to the mount. You can use the cover screw to secure the siren in place and prevent accidental removal.

When you have the siren in place you should always test to ensure everything is in proper working order. Follow along with the video to see how to easily test the siren.
