'Putin chose this war' - Biden on Russia's invasion of Ukraine

"When the history of this era is written. Putin's choice to make a totally unjustifiable war on Ukraine will have left Russia weaker and the rest of the world stronger," Biden said.

Ukrainian forces battled Russian invaders on three sides on Thursday after Moscow mounted an assault by land, sea and air in the biggest attack on a European state since World War Two.

US President Joe Biden has announced a raft of new sanctions against Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. Four Russian banks are among those targeted.
