Here is a review of a LED light from Aputure. It is small and affordable, but gives a surprising amount of power.

The Aputure AL-M9 is a great option if you need to light a subject in a close-up shot. Since it’s so small, it is also easy to attach (even with gaffer’s tape) and hide.

You can use it in medium shots too. As Tom showed in his recent video, you can get clean, noiseless shots with any camera and and in any light. Of course, any light doesn’t mean no light, and a light like the AL-M9 can be a difference maker between a great shot and no shot at all.
