-Juicero is a company that produces a juicing machine and sells juice packs. It was founded in 2013 by Doug Evans.
-The company raised 120 million dollars from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Alphabet Inc. who owns google.
-Juicero launched their wifi juicer in 2016 with a price tag of $700.
-Juicero uses mostly organic ingredients, targeting the raw, vegan, juice bar crowd.
-This San Francisco based company set out to be the premium juicer company in the market, but has more or less become a laughing stock.
-Their juicer just a machine that squeezes a bag of ground up vegetables into a glass.
-As seen on bloomberg, you can squeeze the bag out by hand. It took Bloomberg and the Juicero 2 minutes to squeeze the bag out.
-The initial price of $700 has been recently reduced to $400. Now get this for businesses Juicero charges them a premium price of $1200 for the juicer. I’m pretty sure at that price you can just buy a hydraulic press for less. Upon checking… yet a hydraulic press is less.. much less.
-The only way to use this juicer is to buy the juice pack off Juicero’s website.
-The packs cost around $7 each which produces an 8 oz glass of juice. At an organic juice bar you’d pay around $10 for 16 oz of juice. For the same volume you’d be paying $2 less to have the juice bar make it for you.
-The Juicero can squeeze with up to 4 tons of force which doesn’t seem to make a difference in the amount of juice produced compared to doing it by hand.
-The Juicero won’t squeeze the bag unless a wifi connection is available. The reason for this is so the Juicero can validate the barcode to make sure the pulp bag hasn’t gone bad.
-At first Juicero was only available in California, then it was in 3 states and recently Juicero has been opened up to 17 states across the United States.

Many people complain because they like the juice packs and not the expensive juicer price. I’m sure after Bloomberg’s video came out the Juicero sales dropped the the pack sales went up. Something that did happen after Bloomberg’s video though is Juicero offered a full refund to anyone for 30 days for the juicer. So many this juicer company will just become a juice company.

Something for people to consider is when you cut fruits and vegetables they begin to oxidize. Oxidization is the process that makes any food go rancid, it's just like when you cut an apple and 10 minutes later it’s turned brown. So buying fruits and vegetables that were chopped up a few days prior then sealed in a bag and shipped to your door isn’t exactly “fresh”. The reason people juice fruit and veg is so fresh juice and this juicer does not produce such a product.
